News Flash: University of Maryland Wins the Communications Contest
October 16, 2007
News Flash: At 10:00 a.m. this morning, the results of the Communications Contest were announced. Communications are important to get the incredible story of the teams out to the public. Web sites were judged as well as the tours and messaging the teams give to the thousands of people coming into their houses during the Solar Decathlon.
We will write more about the Communications contest later today after getting comments from the jurors, but here are the results announced this morning.
University of Maryland: 1st place - 98.20 (out of 100 possible points)
Santa Clara University: 2nd place - 92.45
Penn State: 3rd place - 90.40
Comments
UM is my pick from market viability point of view.

Before attending the Decathalon site on the Mall Saturday, I went through each and every web site of the competing schools' houses. U of Maryland had far and away the most aesthetically pleasing site, as well as being the most comprehensive in an easy-to-understand delivery of information.
This was a well deserved win! Congrats to the team!
